On Sunday 14th April 2019 a group of us turned up to the allotment with a mission ... to put up a shed! Oh, and while we were there maybe get a spot of weeding, clearing and compost making done too!
Thanks to a team of fantastic volunteers we managed to do it, and have a great day too - even if it did shower us with hail very briefly!
Nigel Wright put together a two bay compost area for us whilst myself, Mrs Woodcock, Miss Bilverstone, Annika, Robin and Daisy (even with a fractured wrist!) made a start with weeding and clearing our already dug over section of the allotment. Once the compost bays were ready we moved our attention over to the clearance of the area where we intended to put our newly donated potting shed ... just in time Mr Woodcock arrived with his know-how and electrical tools!
Once we had cleared, levelled and slabbed the designated patch it was time for the really heavy work! Mr and Mrs Funnell arrived in the nick of time, just as we were beginning to put the panels together and needed some tall people for the tricky parts! Thankfully, everything fitted and we were able to secure the potting shed ready for gardening club when we come back after the Easter break!
A massive thank you to all our volunteer helpers without whom we would be lost :-)
