As we toured the site we were given a fantastic history lesson, learning all about the prehistoric remains found in 1982 by Francis Pryor.
We visited part of the wooden causeway that is preserved by being kept moist and looked at some of the finds discovered by archaeologists when they excavated the site. It is believed many of these objects were religious offerings because of how they were placed and the sheer volume and value of the artefacts found here.
We also visited the Hudson Barn, a wood laboratory, where timbers from many historical sites - including seahenge - have been cleaned, studied and preserved. In here we were able to see eight prehistoric log boats currently being treated.
