A myth is a story explaining why people and animals are the way they are ,or how a natural event or phenomena happens eg. How darkness came into the world; How the giraffe got his long neck. Listen to the myth: 'Why is the sea salty?'
When you are listening to it think about:
- Plot ( what happens )
- how the salt got into the sea
A storyboard can be used to help you explain what is going to happen in a story. You can tell the story by drawing pictures and sentences of the key events.Thought or speech bubbles can also be used.
Year 2: This will take 2 days to create a neat and beautifully presented storyboard of the myth’ Why is the sea salty’
Task 1 :Jot down and plan what happens in the story before you start your storyboard. Who are the characters? Where is it set? Think about the key events in the story. How does the salt get into the sea?
Include in your myth a simile, adverbials ( suddenly, quickly, carefully), strong adjectives and verbs.

Task 2 : Create a story board of your own story to show the key events. Remember to add narrative to each picture (tell the story) to describe what is happening. Add speech or thought bubbles in each picture..
Include in your myth fronted adverbials, a simile, adverbials( suddenly, quickly, carefully), strong adjectives and verbs.
An example of a story board template is attached. You may choose to draw your own using a ruler. It must have at least 8 boxes but you may use more if you wish.
